The before
After 9 years together, we had drifted into a relationship with little intimacy and no sex for 3 years. With sexual trauma and mental health challenges in the mix, after so much frustration we realised this wasn't something we could work through alone. Working with Susanna changed everything for us.
The process from his perspective
We worked through several sessions with Susanna, including one-on-one time between her and my partner. Those individual sessions gave my partner the space to process trauma and get clear on her own desires. Our couples sessions tackled my role in that trauma and helped us build a real path forward together. Be prepared for difficult conversations and take ownership if you messed up.
Susanna equipped us with practical techniques for initiating intimacy and communicating openly, what we want and how we want it. When working with Susanna, trust in her and her system, it might seem a little crazy and she’ll admit that, but it worked for us.
The outcome
We are a success story and our whole sex life has shifted completely. It’s honestly wild to me to have my partner initiate sex and intimacy. The first time this happened after one of our Susanna sessions I fell in love with my partner all over again and it felt like the bad days were leaving us.
It’s been over a month since our last Susanna session and we’re enjoying a healthy relationship with sex and intimacy that is being initiated and reciprocated by both of us. We’re enjoying each other like we’ve always wanted to. I can’t thank Susanna enough for how she has helped us.

Her perspective after the work
The fact that I’m writing a review in bed after having amazing sex with my partner is nothing short of incredible. After many years of sex being a thing that was avoided and a major source of conflict Susanna has truly changed our lives. She has worked with me to understand where my fear and avoidance has come from, take control of my trauma and not allow it to stop me from having the life and intimacy that I want (and deserve).
In our couples sessions we developed a level of understanding and communication between us that I don’t think we could have done alone (and where other therapists have also failed). The result? (and I can’t believe I’m saying this, from where we started) - sex is something we can enjoy, laugh about and have so, so much fun with.
Before
On the surface, my life always looked great — a strong career, stability, and promising prospects. Even when I looked a little deeper, there didn’t seem to be obvious problems beyond some performance issues.
But when I began working with Susanna, I realized I had been living at a distance from myself. I had been shielding parts of who I was behind achievement and structure, and underneath that there was a sense of numbness and disconnection I had never explored before.
The work
Over the past two years, I’ve continued to be amazed by how naturally Susanna understood the parts of me I didn’t even realize I was hiding.
Her approach isn’t rigid or judgmental. The frameworks she uses are flexible and intuitive, allowing space for the complexity of real life. Through our work together, I was able to explore parts of myself I had never felt safe examining on my own.

What changed
As a result of this work, I’ve become more present and confident in my relationships and in my intimate life.
I feel less like I’m performing a role and more like I’m actually living inside my life. I’m able to show up more honestly with partners and experience connection in a way that wasn’t available to me before.
Even after two years of working together, I’m still struck by how accurately Susanna understands what’s happening beneath the surface. “Intuitive” isn’t branding — it’s the most accurate description of what she does.
Before
I came out at 56 and met Susanna a year later while I was already inside my first big queer relationship — one that was emotionally abusive, chaotic, and honestly terrifying.
At that time, I was still discovering who I was and what I wanted in love, intimacy, and partnership.
The work
Susanna helped me find and express myself sensually, emotionally, and sexually during a period of enormous change in my life.
Her steady support through both the rise and the ending of that relationship gave me the clarity to understand what I truly wanted and needed in a partner.
She witnessed me through the transition and helped me move forward with confidence instead of confusion.
What changed
Today I’m happy to say I’ve found my person — or as Susanna says, I called her in.
This is the most satisfying relationship of my life: one where my values and needs are honored and explored, where challenges are met with love and vulnerability, and where the future feels bright, sustainable, safe, and passionate.
Susanna gave me tools to understand myself and my partner at a deep level. She was even at our wedding.
The before
I have always been a dreamer, finding beauty and meaning in life’s many expressions. But during pregnancy I experienced ante-natal depression, and post-partum felt like a violent storm. Susanna became the calm center of that storm — a grounded refuge when my inner world felt almost uninhabitable.
At the same time, I was navigating D-MER (Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex), a physiological breastfeeding condition that deeply affected my emotional and bodily experience. I longed to reconnect with my body not only as a mother, but as a woman — to rediscover pleasure, vitality, and intimacy with myself and my partner as we transitioned into parenthood.
The process
Over time, Susanna helped me gently reclaim my energy and attention from fear and fragmentation back into presence. Together we explored the relationship between safety, control, and intimacy across my emotional, mental, and sexual life.
We also began to unravel layers of relationship trauma that needed space before I could fully meet my marriage and new life with openness and clarity.
As our work deepened, it expanded into the spiritual dimension. Susanna helped me return to my own inner compass when I felt overwhelmed by intrusive thoughts, existential fear, and the noise of the wider world.
What changed
Working with Susanna reawakened my devotion to life itself — not only the dramatic milestones of motherhood, but its textures, contrasts, and continuity. I remembered that my body, my spirit, and my life still belonged to me.
One of the most beautiful aspects of Susanna’s approach was how she honored Eros as a source of vitality rather than something separate from motherhood. She helped me discern the difference between co-creation and self-sacrifice, allowing me to reclaim parts of myself that felt creative, sensual, and alive.
Her presence created a space of deep trust and curiosity where I could explore even the most vulnerable layers of my experience — from my inner child to my identity as a mother, partner, artist, and woman.
Through this work I reconnected to warmth, vitality, and spiritual freedom. What I found was not only healing, but a profound return to myself.
Trigger warning: Suicidal themes
Before
I began working with Susanna because I was unable to have an orgasm nearly two and a half years after a suicide attempt that left me in a coma for five days and caused a stroke.
As a result, I now live with brain damage, chronic fatigue, tremors, and balance difficulties. Even writing can be challenging. I had already undergone years of psychological therapy, pelvic floor physical therapy, and three brain surgeries, yet I still could not achieve orgasm — something that had never been a problem for me before.
At the time, I was in a caring relationship with a supportive partner, but I was unable to reach orgasm either with him or on my own. I felt deep sadness at the thought that this part of my life might be gone permanently.
The work
Working with Susanna was unlike any therapy I had experienced before. She used imagery, practical exercises, and gentle guidance to help me reconnect with my body and my emotional world.
Through our sessions, I realized I was still carrying anger toward an emotionally abusive past relationship and toward myself. Susanna created a space where I could finally speak about things I had never shared before without feeling judged.
She always made sure I left sessions feeling grounded, supported, and with something concrete to work with between meetings.
What changed
One week after our seventh session, I experienced my first orgasm.
I was overwhelmed with relief and joy. Since then — with Susanna’s support and the presence of a loving partner who understands my history — I am now able to reach orgasm nearly every time I have sex.
Susanna helped me reclaim something I truly thought I had lost. Being able to experience pleasure again has given me a powerful sense of normalcy and hope.

I was having anxiety about my relationship that wouldn't stop. I'm usually a sociable guy and I stopped wanting to be around people. I just could not get out of my head.

I am a non-binary and non-monogamous person who experiences non-normative mental health. Working with Susanna Brisk has been amazing.
